85th Anniversary of the Firm
Visual Design Strategy
OVERVIEW
The 85th anniversary of the founding of Morgan Stanley was marked with a documentary series and website about the people, ideas, values and moments that shaped the firm. My role was to ensure that the visual design for the digital, social and print experiences captured the rich heritage of the firm.
ROLE
Associate Creative Director
Visual Design Strategy
We began by designing the logo utilizing a traditional serif typeface. The serif was paired with a sans serif to speak to the past and present of Morgan Stanley.

The combination of serif and san serif can also be seen throughout the website within the hero, body and data visualizations.
The use of "banker blue" as the primary color also nods to the firms past while modern framing devices and linear devices nods to present and future of the firm.

The interactive timeline allows users to navigate as an overview or pin point a specific era or date.
The documentary was split into 5 episodes. Users are easily able to read related content from the documentary section or navigate through all related content in the story section.

The use of the logo and branding was also used on digital signage in Time square and at the New York Stock Exchange.

Finally, a series of social posts were launched to promote the stories and episodes on the website.
